Leon Panetta As DCI?

Leon Panetta as the chief of the CIA? You bet. I'm pleased by the entire Obama National Security Team. Not a dud amongst 'em. Why do I like Panetta?

First, disregard the bitching from the incoming Senate Intel Chair Dianne Feinstein. The elder "Senior Set" Senators never like junior Senators getting ahold of the keys and staying out past curfew. The Senator is testing the youngster's mettle, and that's to be expected.

Second, we've had a string of intel folks running the place. Dianne Feinstein loved Goss, touted his credentials...and then we got Dusty Foggo selling the house to the highest bidder. So...intel cred is not a recipe for success either.

Third, often the best guy in the intel business is the last guy you'd expect to be in the business in the first place.
